Interbeing is a term coined by Thich Nhat Hanh, who was one of the great Zen masters of the 20th and 21st centuries. Interbeing is both a philosophy and experience, one that says that your being partakes of my being, that what we thought was separate is in fact interrelated. Understanding interbeing is crucial for taking effective action in our ecological crisis and in achieving Soulforce Artistry, which is why it’s one of my Six Pillars of Soulforce Performance Arts.
Day 2 of 100 Days of Soulforce:
– Explanation to Interbeing
– Thich Nhat Hanh quote: “What we most need right now is to hear the sound of the earth crying within us.”
– Importance of understanding interbeing in taking effective action to reverse climate change
– Examples of interbeing in the arts: playing from the heart, and how to cultivate internal motivation in students
– Contemplation: “We’re all in this together”

What’s “100 Days of Soulforce”?
I’m embarking on a mission to spread the word about Soulforce Performing Arts because I believe it is a needed message for artists of all kinds in our times. To that end, I’m making 100 videos over the coming 100 days (or so) to explain all the different angles and ideas, and to hopefully spark inspiration in you! Each video will have inspirational and practical ideas for you to bring more Soulforce to your life as a performing artist.
