Dear Passionate Creator,

This page will take only five minutes to read, and only one minute to make a decision.

I’m going to describe what the Dream Factory is, what it’s about, and then you can decide if you want to join.

The Dream Factory is for artists and creatives who want to consistently achieve tangible creative and career goals.

Ever heard of Banksy, Joshua Bell, Zendaya, Greta Gerwig, Margaret Atwood, Misty Copeland, or Zaha Hadid?

These are artists who have achieved incredible creative (and career) success.

Despite being relatively unknown compared to these artists, I’ve also accomplished a lot as a musician. I’ve toured the country, recorded on dozens of albums, wrote and performed a complete jazz violin concerto, become an accomplished Alexander Technique teacher, and even wrote an award-winning book. I’m no Joshua Bell, but…

I’ve been in the creative and personal development field for 35+ years.

I’ve had a lot of wins, a lot of losses, and learned many painful lessons.

Being a creative can be difficult. Every day is an emotional roller coaster of thinking, I’m not good enough. Even to this day.

It’s been 35 years of obsession and determination. However, I’m in a better creative and career situation than I’ve ever been in my life.

I’ll tell you this: If I had known back then what I know now, I would have gotten here in a fraction of the time.

Years ago, I wanted to be a famous violinist…

I practiced hard in music school and quickly developed my violin skills, but then I hit two major hurdles.

The first was repetitive strain injuries in both arms that quickly made playing violin for more than a few minutes impossible. Thankfully, I found the Alexander Technique. It not only helped me permanently relieve my physical tension and pain, but made my technique effortless, my sound resonant, and my expression spine-tingling.

The second was that, upon graduating, I felt completely lost. Here I was, an aspiring professional musician, and I had no entrepreneurial skills, no structure to keep me accountable to my goals, and no more community to keep me company in the often lonely road of freelance.

I had hoped to consistently be a part of fun musical projects, to create soulful recordings, and develop a successful career – but none of that was happening.

So, I had to get serious about hitting some goals.

I tried recording albums, pursuing gigs and teaching students, and even tried creating a platform to help other musicians like me recover from their injuries. None of these ever got off the ground.

Mostly, this was because I had a terrible time “selling myself” and struggled with developing a clear vision to help my projects flourish.

For a long time, I felt defeated, but then I realized that the pain of not reaching my potential as a musician and teacher was greater than the pain of fully facing my issues.

The real change came when I discovered the idea of “Soulforce,” the transformative creative energy that comes from facing life’s challenges, whether creative or otherwise, from a place of wholeness, aliveness, and connection, rather than the separation, force, and control so common in our society (and even the arts world).

Soulforce helped me face my challenges – the physical tension and pain, self-doubt, performance anxiety, loneliness, lack of financial and career success – with greater confidence, ease, and inspiration. It made me so much more creative, productive, and free than ever before!

I’m not saying you’ll win awards, write ten symphonies, or make millions as an artist. It takes an obsessive person to achieve the biggest creative goals, and it also takes luck.

I wish I could tell you that what I’ve learned along the way – what I call the “inner secrets” of the arts –  came from a certain guru or lineage. For sure, I learned a lot from my teachers, the hundreds of books I’ve read, the dozens of courses I’ve taken, all the silent meditation retreats I’ve completed…

But most of what I’ve learned has come from the blood, sweat, and tears I’ve poured into achieving difficult creative goals from a place of personal well-being and inspiration. It’s been countless thousands of hours, lost nights of sleep, and dedication to my craft. I love this stuff!

So much so that I recently published an award-winning book on the subject in record time!

I’ve now helped hundreds of musicians, artists, and other creatives of all kinds, ages, backgrounds, and abilities tap into their own creative Soulforce. One of my greatest satisfactions in life is seeing so many students light up because they’re now able to hit their creative goals with newfound ease, confidence, and purpose.

Now, I mention all my accomplishments not to brag, but only to let you know that I’m not some fly-by-night coach.

The amount of nonsense, misleading information, and partial truths out there makes me shake my head in frustration.

This is why I started the Dream Factory.

I felt that most of the information and learning spaces out there for creativity were either too expensive, too stressful, or too lonely.

This is why most creatives procrastinate, overthink, get burnt out, and wallow in self-doubt – and then end up doing nothing at all.

Your path to creative flourishing can be simple – I promise!

This is why I’m bringing together creatives of all kinds – both hobbyists and professionals – around the idea that creative flourishing is simple.

Whether you’re trying to finish that damn piece that’s STILL lying around your studio, create new practice routines, find physical and mental well-being, or get more and better paid gigs, we got you!

Most of our members have consistently hit their creative goals, month after month.

Best of all, you’ll have access to the people who’ve accomplished what you’re trying to do.

Here are some of the kinds of creatives we have in our community:

Musicians, visual artists, dancers, music and arts educators, designers, authors, speakers, photographers, architects, film creators, marketers, producers, directors, editors, publishers, sculptors, music and arts therapists, arts administrators, entrepreneurs, and more…

  • Professional creatives of all kinds who feel stuck in creatively and career-wise and want accountability and new ideas for moving forward.
  • Freelance artists and gig workers who work in the gig economy and want career stability, structure, and community to stay on track and mitigate the isolation of freelance work.
  • Passionate adult hobbyists of all kinds with a renewed interest in creative pursuits who seek camaraderie and accountability outside private instruction to retain their spark.
  • Burned-out creatives seeking renewal through a more inspiring creative vision and a more life-giving creative process.
  • Aspiring creatives transitioning into careers who need support building confidence, making connections, and creating structure for sustainable growth.
  • Semi-professional creatives who want to commit more fully to their art, and seek guidance on prioritizing and monetizing their work and integrating it into a busy schedule.

I came to Joseph for tension issues affecting my violin playing, especially in my left arm. As an experienced Alexander Technique teacher and musician, he helped me understand how my body is interconnected and taught me to manage tightness during difficult techniques. Playing feels much better now, and I can play longer with ease, which I also pass on to my students. Thanks, Joseph!

Before joining the Dream Factory, I felt stuck trying to balance survival jobs and my passion for acting. Most actors take crummy gigs to get ahead, but I believed there had to be a better way. Being part of the Dream Factory has given me hope, a sense of community, and practical skills to build a more fulfilling career. Joseph’s Soulforce vision has helped me see a path forward.

As a musician and writer, I’ve struggled with questioning the worth of my work and finding ways to support myself without damaging my relationship to it. Joseph’s Soulforce Arts Approach has given me tools to align my creative energy with the world, reminding me of the sacredness and vitality of the arts. It’s affirmed my belief that artists have a powerful role in bringing healing, meaning, and beauty to the world.

I've often wondered, "Where are the artists?" I’ve longed for a place where artists can come together for support and creative synergy. The Dream Factory offers that space, along with practical skills like the Alexander Technique and guidance on sharing my art. Here, my gifts flourish, and I receive the support I need to keep creating, even in challenging times.

I find Joseph's work inspiring because it’s part of a cultural shift in what it means to be an artist, to something that’s in alignment with my deepest values and which honors the soul. In Joseph’s classes I can really relax. It’s been such a relief to find an established artist who can affirm what my heart already knows: that art is a spiritual process, and that, as a community of artists, we can create a more beautiful story of the world.

Unlike most experts in this field, I don’t focus on teaching some fancy system that will solve all your problems.

Despite their allure, these systems don’t work for everybody. Plus, they can overcomplicate and confuse you, leaving you stuck in over-thinking and procrastination.

Instead, I focus on simplicity.

Simple strategies that will help anyone consistently reach tangible creative goals. Simple simply works.

I know this because I’ve successfully guided countless students through the trickiest, messiest, most intractable creative challenges that exist:

  • Physical tension and pain
  • Performance anxiety
  • Self-doubt and procrastination
  • Burnout and self-sabotage
  • Lack of motivation
  • Creative plateaus
  • Difficulty making a living as an artist
  • And even existential fears like, “Does my art even matter in today’s world?”

And I’ve always been successful – except when I try to get fancy and make things complicated again. Then I hit my palm on my forehead and go back to the fundamentals.

This is why I’m so committed to finding simple, practical solutions to all these issues. It’s something I think about and try to master every day.

I’m constantly looking for ways of making this simple, effective, and fun for our members.

So many creatives get stuck in the messy details and lose sight of the bigger picture. This is when they get stuck and give up.

Because we combine simplicity with fundamentals (and a splash of Soulforce), our members can experience a whole new level of progress on their creative goals with skills that stand the test of time.

It’s like having a superpower that allows you to build the creative life you’ve always wanted, whether that’s through rediscovering your creative spark, establishing better habits, or selling more art.

Inside the Dream Factory, you’ll develop skills and awareness that you may now find difficult to imagine.

  • You will define goals that truly matter to you, whether it’s creating daily, improving skills, or feeling more confident on stage. The key to consistent creative growth is moving towards things that matter most to you.
  • You will get support in defining and taking tangible steps towards your goals, supported by a community that holds you accountable.
  • You will get clear on what’s holding you back. Tackle procrastination, perfectionism, and burnout with tools that shine light on your “shadow” goals. Your shadow goals are those you hide, repress, or deny; shining light on them is the secret to consistent progress.
  • You will find a space where your creativity and well-being meet. Learn the “inner secrets” of the arts so you can experience creative freedom, inspiration, and healing. This is your path to Soulforce!
  • You will learn valuable life lessons. You’ll become a deeper, more evolved person, and this will improve your art and raise your value in the eyes of others.
  • You will have access to some of the greatest minds in the creativity and personal development fields.
  • You will experience the joy of camaraderie with other creatives on a similar path. With coaching calls, accountability partners, a lively forum, and monthly celebrations, you’ll have access to other creatives you might not have met otherwise. Who knows what you can create together!
