In this video I present a self-compassion exercise aimed at relieving anxiety created by researcher Kristen Neff, as well as talk about the importance of having intrinsic vs. extrinsic motivations in performance, with examples of each.
The ultimate mind-set for relieving performance anxiety is a bit like the classic serenity prayer:
“May I have the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Applying this to your performance can help you feel calm, courageous, and creative on stage. Learn how in this video!
